This post will include design elements of the mobile application and website for my created festival. To better understand users needs and wants, research has been conducted on competitors to create the optimal mood board with a specific colour pallet which can be seen bellow.
MOODBOARD

The image above is a simple mood board I created using popular video game titles that people normally play within the competitors festivals. The mood board has a strong red colour within the E-Sports section in the middle, but within the game titles they are all different showing that the festival is very diverse allowing people of all interests to attend and have fun.
Another aspect of the mood board is that the main genre of the games are shooter games, with this subtle information incorporating shooter games into my personal festival will increase the chance of more user interaction to the festival.
The typography used with the mood board varies a lot with the different titles for example “FORTNITE” uses a very bold impact font whereas “NARAKA bladepoint” uses a traditional chinese brush stroke. Ultimately all the titles use very eye catching typography to attract others to the video game which will lead to them being used in the festival I am creating.
USER FEEDBACK ON COLOURS
Based on the user feedback pie-chart bellow, the main colours that will represent the festival as well as the website and mobile application will be a dark red and black, these two colours have also been selected due to the mood board above having a strong tone of those two specific colours meaning its very popular to the public.
As stated above the primary colours will be dark red and black, this means that the imagery within the website, mobile application and the overall theme of the festival should be primarily dark red and black, this will ultimately make me stand out from other competitors as the dark red and black combination has yet to be used within this specific festival/event.

Based from user feedback I have created a pie chart of the most popular colours chosen to represent the festival/event. The most popular two colours are Dark Red and Black with White and Red just behind. However a decision was made to incorporate two more colours towards the colour pallet as only two colours can be very limiting to the festival on certain areas of the website or mobile application, therefore White and Red will be added into the pallet as they were chosen as the next most popular colour by the users in the pie chart above.

Ultimately, Dark red and black have been chosen as the core colours of the festival/event with the addition of secondary colours being Red and White purely for specific areas within the website/mobile app.
